Excluded from the compact model
- Owner labor and the value of time.
- Food spoilage, failed batches, and unused finished food.
- Financing interest unless added to machine price.
- Resale value, depreciation schedule, and tax treatment.
- Major repairs outside the supplies reserve.
- Health, nutrition, convenience, and preparedness value.
These exclusions keep the tool understandable. They do not imply a zero cost or zero benefit. Add a defensible amount to an input when an excluded item materially changes your decision.

Positive per-batch economics but no monthly savings and no payback.
Break-even operating cost; the machine purchase is never recovered.
The loss remains visible and is not clamped to zero.
Positive monthly savings produce immediate payback.
